Conference Attendees' Feedback
On April 7 & 8, 2011, ASFA held its 2nd Annual Conference in San Francisco.
“The 2011 Nationwide School Foundation Conference of ASFA was as exceptional as anticipated! All of the “who, what, when, and where” aspects were planned, coordinated and developed with outstanding results! The presenters, topics, schedule and site merit accolades! Nancy Dye is commended for the personal and professional qualities fundamental to the event!”
- Dr. M. Joan Terry, Assistant Superintendent and District Administrator, Rockwall ISD, Education Foundation, Inc. in Texas
“The ASFA Conference provided professional development to a wide range of people at school foundations across the country. The wide range of Conference speakers provided great expertise on each subject regardless of the goals that each foundation has at the local level, e.g., raising money for scholarships, event-based initiatives. Chuck Miller, who was one of the presenters in “Transforming Your Foundations’ Infrastructure into a Superstructure” really went into great detail about the important “nuts and bolts” of an organization. Many people don’t think about the financial and compliance issues and these can be most daunting.”
- Dean Langdon, Illinois Association of School Boards
On April 8, 2010, ASFA held its Inaugural Conference in Chicago.
“I had a wonderful experience at the ASFA Conference. The presenters and the information were very helpful. I was able to gain valuable insight and knowledge that will assist with some of the issues we face at our foundation during these tough economic times. Many thanks to Nancy Dye and the others who helped make this an enjoyable and worthwhile conference. Kudos to each of you for your vision and foresight with the planning and implementation of the conference”.
- A. Howard-Hutton from Colorado
“This was a very well structured conference that included an excellent variety of topics and speakers. It laid an excellent foundation for further discussion and future conference material. I thoroughly enjoyed the time!”
- S. Traudt from Nebraska
“For the first time out, ASFA’s Conference included very comprehensive reports. All subjects that were covered by the presenters were of keen interest to the attendees. The quality speakers were top notch and the topics were on target, particularly for a relatively new Executive Director. Keep up the good work!”
- B. McCargo from Georgia
