Does your foundation have a committee that is solely responsible for organizing special events?  The Mercer Schools Foundation recently engaged members of the community and dignitaries which attributed to its record breaking number of attendees at their breakfast.

“The district-wide Bridge-The-Gap effort created by a committee with PTA, Schools Foundation and community volunteers was the key to achieving these results,” said Claudia Robbs, co-president of the Mercer Island PTA Council.

While some foundations are challenged to avoid competition with local PTAs, Ms. Robb further stated that “Our PTAs are stepping up in unprecedented ways to raise our members’ awareness of our district’s budget gap.”
