Does anyone in your community have “connections” to celebrities? If so, your foundation may be able to convince a celebrity to perform for the benefit of your local education foundation. The Winchester Education Foundation is holding its third “Patsy Cline Classic” in Winchester, which is Cline’s hometown, on October 21. Wynonna Judd and her mother, Naomi, won the Country Music Association’s award for duo of the year each year from 1985 to 1991.
This is the third annual concert event for the Classic in Winchester. In 2009, country singer/songwriter Willie Nelson played the inaugural concert. In 2010, The Beach Boys followed. The foundation raised about $11,000 from the Nelson concert and $13,500 when The Beach Boys performed.
Mr. Christian Schweiger of the concert organizer, Zolivia L.L.C. said “Our third year – maybe we have legs with this annual tradition to help fund the good work of the Winchester Education Foundation.”
