A participant will learn why to use a campaign approach and the specifics of how to put one into place.

EXPLANATION:
The difference between events funding and using a campaign approach is discussed, and how the campaign approach builds sustainable funding.

  • The elements of a successful major gifts campaign and why each is important
  • The specifics of how to write a compelling case statement, including the elements that should be included with samples from two school foundations
  • How to organize volunteers for a campaign
  • How and why to develop an honorary board
  • The levels of gifts needed for a successful campaign, based on the goal
  • An overview of the process of soliciting a major gift
  • An overview of campaign material preparation, including a pledge card
  • The basic elements of an action plan to manage a campaign
